ARUA: Primary and Secondary Schools across the country have concluded the process of registration of candidates slated to sit the 2023 end of cycle Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).
According to the Uganda Media Centre website, by closure of the extended registration period of June 7, more than 1.2million candidates had registered for all the three exams levels of PLE, UCE and UACE.
The head teacher of Muni Girls’ Secondary School Grace Draru Manasseh, says the registration exercise went on smoothly despite the hard economic times.
“The only challenge we faced was collecting the examination fee but parents eventually paid up and we were able to register the learners. Times are hard, the economy and it was hard for parents to part away with the money,” said Draru.
She says despite the few challenges they were able to register 122 O’level and 22 A level students.
Sally Adania, the head teacher Niva Primary School in Arua City says the school had no challenges in the registration exercise. She says they registered 193 candidates including learners from other schools without centre numbers.
“Everything went on well and we were able to submit in time before the deadline. We have about four schools that use Niva primary school as their centre,” she revealed.
Rashid Anguzu, the head teacher Arua Secondary School says they did not register any challenges which he attributes to cooperation from parents.
He says the school registered 261 candidates in O level and 56 in A level.
