Paidha town council chairperson Innocent Onega Godfey has appealed to residents of Zombo district to continue cooperating with security organs in the district to curb crimes.

He revealed this message on Tuesday as Zombo UPDF officers joined the rest of the country to mark the climax of 42nd Tarehe sita.

Onega commended the UPDF officers in protecting the citizens.

Tarehe sita is annually marked on 6th February and it is a day that NRA/NRM launched its first attack on Kabamba military barracks.

In Zombo district the soldiers embarked on cleaning major institutions like health centres, markets among others.

Lt. Kelly Gingiera, UPDF spokesperson for greater Nebbi said the day is historical to the Ugandans.

He lauded the community for giving them timely information to deal with criminals in the district.

He urged the communities to continue working with the UPDF and embrace the achievements of the NRM for the betterment of the country. 

“The celebrations were so colourful,I once again thank the key stakeholders that participated. This is all our victory we need to celebrate it together,” said Gingiera. 

This year’s national celebrations were held in Kazo district under the theme” recognizing the sacrifice of the founders of People’ revolution, social and economic transformation”.
