NWOYA:Police in Nwoya has shed more light on Karuma bus accident involving baby coach. The accident occurred last evening 8KM from Karuma Junction in Murchison falls Game Park along Karuma Pakwach highway in Nwoya district.

According to the Aswa river region spokesman David Ongom Mudong, the accident involving Baby Coach Bus registration number UBB 584K from Kampala heading to Yumbe district left one person dead and 13 people critically injured.

The deceased has been identified as Denis Tukuru a boda boda rider and a resident of Paminya trading centre,Ndhew sub county Nebbi district.

Meanwhile police has identified the victims in critical condition. The victims are mainly residents of Pakwach and Arua districts. Among those is Matovu John a resident of Nebbi, Bayo Moses a resident of Arua , Oroch William fron Nebbi, Ayikoru Hellen  from Maracha , Nyuta Magrate from Pakwach and Onyungrwot Charity from Pakwach, Komakech Jude from Pakwqach, Doreen Munguchi from Arua and Abdalla Razak From Arua.

Police explains that the bus that was heading to Yumbe via Paidha came across elephants crossing the road and tried to dodge them. Police adds that the driver identified as Kilama Patrick Kony is said to have knocked one elephant and in the process he lost control and overturned.
