HOIMA: An angry mob in Hoima City has this morning lynched a one Musana Peter, a resident of Kiryatete West Cell East division of Hoima City, on allegations of beheading his 9-month-old baby.
The juvenile Ayebale Moris was beheaded by his father on Saturday afternoon for unclear reasons.
ASP Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, told our reporter that the angry mob identified Musana Peter and lynched him along Kitara Road in Hoima City.
“By the time we reached the scene, the mob had already killed the suspect and fled the scene of the crime,” by the time you put the suspect out of action the evidence is spoilt, said Hakiza.
The police officer condemned the act of mob justice and said it jeopardizes investigations, something he said is unlawful, adding that they could have known why the suspect beheaded his 9-month-old baby.
Nyakato Moreen, the deceased child’s mother, explained that on the fateful day, her husband came back home and entered their house, where their son was sleeping and picked up a panga and chopped off their son’s head, killing him on the spot, and later fled to an unknown destination.
Nyakato says that, upon entering their house, where the child was sleeping, she was shocked to discover the child lying in a pool of blood with his head chopped off.
She says she sounded an alarm that attracted area residents, but they could not apprehend the suspect since he had already fled the crime scene.
According to Nyakato, they did not have any misunderstandings with her husband, who wondered why he decided to brutally kill their child.
